0203. George W. Meader (1807 – p.1850)

George W. Meader, son of George F. Meader (1783-1868) [0098] and Charlotte Bromley (b.1784), was born in Easton, NY March 22, 1807 and died sometime after 1850. He married Nancy Howland about 1827. She was born in 1812 the daughter of Reuben Howland and Margaret Spooner of Dartmouth, MA. She was sister to Abigail Howland, who married Daniel Meader [0206].

He was a harness maker and upholsterer, living first in Stillwater. Before 1850 he went to Greenwich, NY to carry on his business. No trace of him was found after 1850, but his wife was apparently brought back for burial in the Greenwich Cemetery.

The children of George Meader and Nancy Howland, several of whom are said to have died young, and most of whom were probably born in Stillwater, were:
